Social distancing can lead to feelings of loneliness and not having a community around us can lead to us feeling socially isolated.
- Don’t cut yourself off from others, do your part to combat social isolation, reach out to loved ones and others who may be experiencing stress about the outbreak – talk about feelings
- Try digital ways of catching up – facetiming, what’s app, skype, Microsoft teams are all great ways of keeping in touch – and you can chat about things which aren’t related to the outbreak
- Remind yourself you are NOT alone
If there is someone you are worried about and they are self isolating, or their support network is self isolating, it’s important to try and keep communication channels open with them – try using the channels you would usually use; phone, text, email, social media and make sure they are ok.
